On Monday, October 13, 2025, in the 4th match out of six in Group C of the Confederation of North, Central American, and Caribbean Associations (CONCACAF) Final Round of Qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, our Grenadiers faced the "Catrachos" of Honduras at the José de la Paz Herrera National Stadium in Honduras, suffering a heavy and humiliating defeat [0-3].

Starting Lineup :

French coach Sébastien Migné has unveiled the Grenadiers' starting lineup against Honduras.

Compared to the last match against Nicaragua, Migné has made three changes : Derrick Étienne replaces Ruben Providence, Garven Metusala plays right back in place of Carlens Arcus, who cannot play due to two yellow cards, and Martin Expérience replaces Duke Lacroix at left back. Otherwise, the team's lineup remains the same as the one that won the 3-0 victory over Nicaragua.

Summary :

From the kickoff, the "Catrachos" clearly displayed their ambitions to win. The Grenadiers secured the three points of victory by multiplying their attacks. Rigoberto Rivas opened the scoring in the 18th minute, giving Honduras the lead with a flick from the right side of the box, capitalizing on a long, precise pass from Kervin Arriaga over the Haitian defense [0-1].

Stunned, the Grenadiers were unable to control the ball afterward, facing a remarkably well-organized Honduran team.

Anthony Lozano doubled the lead for the "Catrachos" in the 26th minute with a right-footed shot, finishing off a counterattack. Luis Palma provided the assist on the play [0-2]

Romell Quioto extended the lead for Honduras in the 40th minute, recovering the ball and finding the back of the net from the left side of the penalty area [0-3] against a rather lacking Haitian defense…

After the break, Haiti trailed 3-0. Although the "Catrachos" slowed down a bit, our Grenadiers' offensive efforts failed to materialize. The Grenadiers gave everything they had, but it wasn't enough to break through the "Catrachos" wall.

Honduras looked to score another goal throughout the second half, but both opportunities, from Getsel Montes in the 54th minute and Alexy Vega in the box in the 83rd minute, were blocked by Haitian goalkeeper Johny Placide.

Goalkeeper Edrick Menjívar put in a solid performance for Honduras, making three saves.

At the end of regulation time, Haiti, which played its worst match since the start of this qualifying phase, suffered a very heavy defeat [0-3]. With Costa Rica's victory over Nicaragua, Haiti is now relegated to third place.

Thanks to this victory, Honduras reclaims first place in Group C with eight points.

Our Grenadiers must win their last two matches (in November) against Costa Rica and Nicaragua to hope to secure a playoff spot. The qualifying ticket is still open, but the window of opportunity is getting narrower and narrower.
